Learn more about Vail Health <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vailhealth.org\/about\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>About the opportunity:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Responsible for specimen processing, quality control, maintenance, test performance, and for reporting test results.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><strong>What you will do:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Follows laboratory\u2019s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, quality control and maintaining records of patient test results.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, OSHA Rules and Regulations, environmental and infection control standards.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Performs only those moderate complexity tests within the scope of qualifications.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Performs and reviews quality controls in testing; decides if results are within acceptable ranges, researches problems and corrects.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Performs a variety of determinations on different bodily fluids such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and complete blood counts. Confirms and verifies test results and reports findings to clinicians.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the reference laboratory.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment and monitors maintenance schedules.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Follows corrective action policies and procedures when test systems are not within the laboratory\u2019s established acceptable levels of performance.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and corrects the problems or notifies supervisory personnel of the problem.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory\u2019s established performance specifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>This description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job.
