Raised in Galveston, Texas, Joanie pursued her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch, earning a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2023. After working as a therapist in acute care, she accepted the hand therapy fellowship position at Howard Head to pursue her passion of treating injuries of the upper extremity.
